Kathmandu – India has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Nepal following a meeting between Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
In a statement issued after the meeting, Minister Jaishankar said he was delighted to meet Lamichhane and welcomed his commitment to working closely together for a shared and prosperous future.
Jaishankar described Nepal as a priority partner under India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries. He expressed optimism about collaborating with Nepal’s new government to further strengthen the special and multifaceted relationship between Nepal and India.
The meeting reflects the continued engagement between political leaders of the two neighboring countries and underscores the importance both sides place on advancing bilateral cooperation, economic development, and regional partnership.
