Kathmandu – The Embassy of India in Nepal has announced the commencement of the second cohort of the India-Nepal Startup Partnership Network (IN-SPAN) programme, bringing together 25 promising startups from Nepal.

The selected startups represent a wide range of sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, cleantech, fintech, healthtech, agritech, e-commerce, mobility, manufacturing and construction technology, FMCG, aerospace, Internet of Things (IoT), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

The inaugural ceremony was held at IITM Pravartak and attended by academics from IIT Madras, along with IITM Pravartak Chief Executive Officer M. J. Shankar Raman.

Addressing the event virtually, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava congratulated the participants and appreciated the diversity of the cohort. He encouraged the startups to actively engage with and benefit from India’s vibrant startup ecosystem through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Over the next eight weeks, the participating startups will undergo an intensive entrepreneurship development programme that includes AI skill development, investment pitch training, networking opportunities, and internships with Indian startups operating in their respective sectors.

The IN-SPAN initiative aims to strengthen innovation-driven cooperation between India and Nepal by connecting emerging Nepali startups with mentors, investors, industry experts, and entrepreneurial networks in India. The Embassy of India extended its best wishes to all participating startups for a successful and productive journey through the programme.
