Kathmandu, June 28 : The National Assembly (NA) has passed the proposal on suspension of NA rule as per NA Regulation 2075 today.
Lawmaker Khim Lal Bhattarai presented the proposal regarding this in the second meeting of the NA, which was supported by lawmakers Brishesh Chandra Lal and Anita Devkota. Rule No 94, 98, 99 and 106 from the Regulation were suspended by the meeting.
Similarly, the NA meeting picked the names for the members of the Business Advisory Committee.
The third meeting of the NA today itself unanimously passed a bill seeking consideration on the bill designed to amend the Commission on Inquiry of Enforced Disappearance and Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act 2071.
The bill was presented by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sher Bahadur Tamang. On the occasion, he said a new law was being drafted to settle the remaining cases of the conflict era as per the verdict of Supreme Court, the international law and Comprehensive Peace Accord. “Let’s move ahead for the campaign of nation building, rather than engaging in conflict,” he called.
During the deliberation on it, lawmaker Chandra Prakash Puri said the bill was relevant because it was brought to extend the term of the commission to settle the remaining issues of conflict era.
