Kathmandu, May 16 (RSS): Shankhararachaya Nichalananda Saraswati of the Purba Yamana Righved Gobordhan Matha of Jagannath Puri has said that Nepal should be made the capital of the global vedic campaign.

Speaking at a special talk programme hosted by the TU Department of Sanskrit on Wednesday, he said science is part of the Veda, and it was from the study of Veda that westerners made big scientific achievements. “We also worship and chant the Veda but do not put into practice, thereby we are lagging behind,” he said.

At the programme, TU Vice-chancellor Dr Tirtha Raj Khaniya, Vice-chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University Prof Dr Kul Prasad Koirala, head of the Department Narayan Gautam and other speakers emphasized on the need to provide facility to teach and learn the Vedic philosophy in Nepali language.

Shankhararachaya Nichalananda Saraswati was also felicitated on the occasion.
