Kathmandu – The Government of India has provided vehicles as a gift to the Government of Nepal for the upcoming elections.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava handed over 200 vehicles as a gift to Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma on behalf of the Government of India during a program held at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.

According to the Indian Embassy, ​​the vehicles handed over will help various organizations in Nepal to organize the necessary arrangements for the upcoming elections. In the vehicle transfer program, Finance Minister Sharma thanked the Indian government for its continuous support to Nepal in the form of development partnership including vehicles. He said that elections will play an important role in strengthening democracy as well as economic and social transformation.

Likewise, Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava expressed his belief that India’s support will help Nepal’s electoral program. He said that India will continue to support Nepal in the coming days as well.

According to the embassy, ​​the vehicles provided at the request of the Government of Nepal will be used during the elections, of which 120 will be used by the security agencies and the remaining 80 by the Election Commission. So far, India has gifted more than 2,400 vehicles to Nepal during the election period, with nearly 2,000 vehicles to the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force, and 400 vehicles to the Nepali Army and the Election Commission.
