Kathmandu – A school project built in Rupandehi district with the grant support of the Government of India has been inaugurated.

Indian Ambassador to Home Minister Balkrishna Khand of the Government of Nepal and Nepal Naveen Srivastava   jointly inaugurated the school project in Rupandehi district Saturday.

In this project, there are school and laboratory buildings built for Ram Naresh Yadav Adarsh ​​Secondary School located in Dhakdhai, Rohini rural municipality of Rupandehi district. Under the India-Nepal Development Cooperation Program, this project has been implemented as a high impact community development project by District Coordination Committee Rupandehi with the financial support of the Government of India at a cost of 2.09 crores.

This project is one of the 75 projects to be inaugurated in Nepal this year as part of the ‘Nectar Festival of Independence’ initiated by the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of India’s independence. Since 2003, India has initiated more than 532 high impact community development projects in Nepal, 475 projects have been completed in the seven provinces of Nepal in the fields of health, education, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation and other public facilities. Among them, 12 are in Rupandehi district and 60 are in Lumbini province.

India and Nepal have a multifaceted and multilateral development partnership which reflects the closeness between the people of the two countries.

The implementation of these projects reflects the continuous support provided by the Government of India to strengthen the socio-economic infrastructure in Nepal and to contribute to the development of individuals at the community level.
