KATHMANDU –  A business agreement has been signed between Standard Chartered Bank and Unilever Nepal Limited. A business agreement was signed between the two organizations during a ceremony on Sunday. As per the agreement, the bank will provide supply related financial solutions to the distributors of Unilever. Distributors recommended by Unilever Nepal will be able to take advantage of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal (a bank-approved) business financial solution. The agreement is aimed at providing adequate financial resources to small and medium enterprises (distributors) in the bank’s supply-linked financial programs. It covers the entire working capital of the service recipients, which is believed to help distributors, especially in difficult times, such as epidemics, liquidity, etc., to ensure their financial stability. It will also help large corporates implement more sustainable and flexible supply commitments, the bank said. Addressing the signing ceremony, SCB Nepal CEO Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar said that the bank was happy to offer the first such service for Unilever Nepal in the country. “We have a long way to go in our digital journey to ensure a holistic ecosystem for our corporate clients and we are committed to delivering more innovative solutions in the future,” he said. Amlan Mukherjee, Managing Director, UNL, also said that the distributor financial program has enabled UNL to make uninterrupted progress, especially in difficult economic times, adding that it would enliven life. ‘Continuing to supply our brands has helped us serve our customers. The distributor financial program is a resource for market development and we are very excited to be able to develop a model tailored to the critical engagement of our customers, ”he said. The agreement is considered very timely, relevant and appropriate.
