KATHMANDU- Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center and Kendriya Vidyalaya have jointly celebrated the 161st birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore at the Vivekananda Hall of the Indian Embassy here today.

The program is organized as a part of the ongoing ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’.

Speaking on the occasion, Navin Kumar, First Secretary, Press, Information and Culture, lauded the talent of Rabindranath Tagore and urged all to use their potential.

The classical music teachers and students of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center recited Rabindra Sangeet together while the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathmandu performed songs and dances based on Tagore’s composition which was very much appreciated by the audience.

Mr. Vasu Gautam, President of Lumbini World Peace Forum and eminent speaker, gave an interactive presentation titled “Shanti Niketan: Tagore’s Thought in Education”.

The event was attended by young students of music, arts and literature, CBSE school children, members of the Indian Diaspora and scholars.
