Embassy of India in Kathmandu & Nepal India Chamber of Commerce held a brainstorming session on strengthening Nepal-India economic ties. DCM of Embassy of India in Kathmandu Ms Namgya Khampa welcomed NICCI executive committee & assured support to their endeavors especially in tourism, trade & investment.
Issues discussed were : promotion of tourist circuits (Buddhist, Ramayana, Mahabharat, Sikh and Shiva Shakti), attracting Indian investments into Nepal, especially in the emerging sectors and business opportunities in construction and agriculture sectors.
NICCI also proposed to bring out a detailed plan of action on these issues, including organization of India Nepal Partnership Summit, Financial Sector Summit and establishment of an India Nepal center of Innovation to promote budding entrepreneurs. Recent developments in the railway sector cooperation were also discussed.
