Kathmandu: The Embassy of India has concluded the program of the 7th International Yoga Day under the India@75 ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

The program, which concluded on Sunday with the slogan ‘Be With Yoga , Be At Home’, was designed to practice yoga in a standard manner and also demonstrated various ‘common yoga practice procedures’ of yoga approved by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

The yoga practice presented by yoga guru Shri Loknath Khanal was also broadcast live on Facebook.

Apart from this, the embassy had organized a virtual essay writing and video blogging competition with the aim of making the program more useful.

Recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, International Yoga Day has been celebrated since 2015 as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and is considered a special day in many parts of the world.

Addressing the United Nations, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has initiated the celebration of June 21 every year since then as International Yoga Day.
