KATHMANDU, March 10: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi, and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai recently held a meeting on issues related to Corona virus infection, its control, preventive measures and prior preparation at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Tuesday.

Ambassador Yanqi said that out of the 80,900 Corona virus patients, 59,000 Chinese have returned home following their treatment. Ambassador Yanqi expressed her belief that the Corona Virus infection will not spread in Nepal with commitment China will have full support for its control in case any problem exists in Nepal. She also lauded Nepal’s alertness and preparedness to prevent Corona virus infection. She said China is ready to give Nepal all kinds of technology, medicines and information that China has implemented to control and prevent Corona virus infection.

Addressing the meeting, Minister Bhattarai expressed delight that China is soon getting rid of the Corona Virus problem. He informed that Nepal is doing every kinds of preparation for the prevention of Corona virus infection. Minister Bhattarai informed about the government’s preparations regarding check-ups at international airports, arrangements for beds in hospitals and provision of quarantines among others.

Minister Bhattarai said that the government has issued a warning against gathering in public places to avoid Corona virus infection. He also said that the main information about the Corona virus was circulated through official media platforms.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Ministry Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, physicians from the Ministry of Health, Joint Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay, and the heads of the subordinate bodies. Senior officials of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal were present at the meeting
