Although the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has forwarded ‘Mayor’s Research Fellowship Programme-2020’ for long-term solution of city-related problems, not a single application has been submitted yet. KMC City Planning Commission had published a notice in the month of January but it has not received a single application so far. The deadline to submit the application has been set for third week of March. Commission Vice-Chair Saroj Basnet said, “This is youth-target programme. There is a trend of doing work in last hour, so application will be submitted till last hour of the deadline.” A candidate should be at least a master degree holder and should have two years of work or research experience. He/she has to submit a proposal regarding measures to resolve problems of city area from new process along with the application.
