The Secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist party (NCP) has decided to make party’s vice-chair Bamdev Gautam as National Assembly member. The meeting held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar today took the decision in this regard, said Spokesperson of the NCP, Narayankaji Shrestha. Shrestha informed that the meeting decided to request the government to appoint Gautam to the post, to be nominated by the President at the recommendation of the cabinet. Out of three members nominated by the President at the recommendation of the cabinet, the term of Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada is terminating on March 4. Shrestha said that despite the party formed a taskforce to carryout necessary homework for constitution amendment, it is no more active now as there is no meaning of moving ahead by forming a taskforce to carryout homework for constitution amendment.
