Kathmandu – Bus ticket booking has opened from today in advance for the convenience of passengers going home for the Dashain holidays.

Although a joint meeting of the Department of Transport Management and the transport entrepreneurs had on September 16 decided to open the ticket booking from September 21, the transport entrepreneurs had refused to start the ticket booking in advance citing hike in the price of petroleum products.

A meeting of the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs on Monday decided to open the advance ticket bookings saying the government has agreed to increase the transport fare by 10 per cent.

Federation general secretary Punya Prasad (Saroj) Sitaula said they have decided to open the ticket bookings in advance from Tuesday following the adjustment in the price of transport fare following the hike in the petroleum product prices.   (RSS)
