Kathmandu – The eighth district convention of Nepal Press Union, Palpa elected Bharat Sharma as the chairman. Sharma was also the chair of the Nepal Press Union, Palpa chapter prior to this.
Pushkarram Regmi was picked as the vice-chairman under the open category while Mana Gaire was named as the vice-chair in women’s category from the district convention on Saturday. Likewise, Ram Chandra Rayamajhi, Bishnu Prasad Khanal and Sarswati Dangal were elected as the secretary, treasurer, and joint-secretary, respectively.
Suman Karki, Bhabishwar Poudel, Bishnu Prasad Pandey, Sangita Thapa, Sarita Regmi, Dan Bahadur Hiski, Jiban Tiwari and Imansingh Rana are named as the members in the district committee.
On the occasion, nine different journalists in the district were honoured for their contribution to journalism in the district.
Meanwhile, Binayaraj Bhandari was elected to the post of chair in Nepal Press Union Bardiaya chapter through voting from the sixth district convention. Bhandari defeated his contender Dipaklal
Shrestha by one vote. Bhandari got 30 votes while Shrestha secured 29 votes out of 60 votes. Similarly, Bishnu Prasad Adhikari was elected the vice-chairperson in open category while Goma Bista in women’s category. (RSS)
