Butwal – Chief Minister of Province-5, Shanker Pokharel has urged the RSS leadership to transform the national news agency to provincial structure in the changed context.
The concept of publishing provincial bulletin from RSS was appreciative, Chief Minister Pokharel said in a discussion with a RSS team led by its Chairperson Harihar Adhikari ‘Shyamal’ today.
“The Province government does have its own media so the provincial media institute can be set up”, Pokharel said.
He however asked the RSS leadership to demonstrate capacity having source of its news for establishing it a credible news agency.
The news agency should perform in a way to develop its ownership outside in a natural manner rather not on compulsion, he added.
The chief minister further said that the RSS can take up the responsibility for disseminating entire package of information of federal, provincial and local levels and urged the agency to internalize the provincial psychology.
On the occasion, RSS Chair Shyamal briefed that the agency has intensified its task of disseminating quality and authentic news related to the matters of public concerns at federal, provincial and local levels.
He further noted that the province government should lay special emphasis on the development of provincial structure of RSS.
As the agency can perform as a main news source for all media and take the leadership for media mobilization, the province government should show a gesture of ownership to the institution, Shyamal urged. (RSS)
