Kanchanpur, Aug 13 (RSS): The Kanchanpur-based Amar Community Forest has constructed an embankment at the cost of Rs 6 million for the control of swollen rivulet.

The community forest located in Bedkot municipality-8, Rautela built the embankment with a length of 1,000 metres along the Trishuli and Rautela rivulets.

It was shared that the forest did this from the amount received from the sale of wood, fodder and gravels.

Mohan Bahadur Chand, Chairperson of Amar Community Forest, shared that the embankment was constructed to prevent land erosion triggered by the rivulets.

“The embankment has secured 150 plus families”, he added.

There are altogether 495 members in the forest stretching over the area of 315 hectares.
