Kathmandu – Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Bidya Sundar Shakya, has said utmost initiatives would be taken to best utilise the labour, skills and capital earned by the Nepalis abroad, into the country.

Mayor Shakya, who is in Japan in course of attending the Asia Pacific City Conference, said this in discussion with the Nepali diaspora.
The KMC mayor is on visit to Japan at the special invitation of the Fukuoaka City mayor Takashima. Mayor Shakya participated in the City Conference which discussed issues related to management of cities and related challenges. Discussions were also held on the minimum requirements needed for a city and the development indicators as well.

Mayor Shakya said that the conference was very important as it provided an opportunity to promote inter-relations with various cities of different countries. Shakya had left for Japan on July 31.  (RSS)
