Gaighat – Service recipients have been hit hard for no delivery of services from the Transport Management Service Office based in district headquarters, Gaighat.

With this the service seekers are compelled to receive necessary services from distant units.
To provide services to the people belonging to different hilly districts of Sagarmatha Zone, the Siraha-based Lahan Transport Office had expanded its sub-section at Gaighat in 2072 BS. Four years have already elapsed since its establishment but the office has not delivered other public services except blue book renew and general tax collection.

The failure on part of the service unit has forced service recipients to rush to Lahan and Itahari of the Province-2. Rajesh Karki, a transport entrepreneur of Beltar, share that he was compelled to seek services related to vehicle license renewal, transport route permit and ownership transfer of vehicles from Lahan and Itahari.

There are several examples of such kinds which reveal difficulties being faced by the citizens in receiving public services.When asked about the service doldrums, Information Officer and Accountant at Transport Management Service Office, Gaighat, Krit Rayamajhi admitted the inability of the office to deliver its services. He clarified that the office could not deliver other public services to the people as there was no directive from the concerned department fo the same. (RSS)
