Kathmandu, July 25: The Supreme Court (SC) has completed its preparation to enforce civil code and criminal code along with other five Acts from coming August 17.
Spokesperson Bhadrakali Pokharel shared that the apex court has prepared necessary regulations after holding consultations with all courts so as to implement civil code and criminal code along with five Acts.
At a press conference organized by the apex court today, the 2074-75 BS annual progress review meeting of the SC and high courts held on 22-24 July completed the preparation to implement the Civil Code Act-2074 BS and Criminal Code Act 2074 BS from August 17.
Likewise, three separate committees have been formed to hold necessary consultations and carry out other preparations for the enforcement of Penal Procedure Act-2074 BS and Criminal Offenses Punishment Determination and Enforcement Act-2074 BS from August 17.
Meanwhile, it was shared that total 120,189 cases have been settled in the apex court, high courts and district courts during the fiscal.
Total 56.59 percent of 212,397 cases registered in the fiscal year 2075-76 BS was settled, which is 2.89 percent higher than the case settlement ratio of the last year.
According to SC registrar Mahendranath Upadhyay, the courts during the period have achieved 80 per cent progress against the target of case settlement.
