Dhangadhi, July 23: The paddy cultivated in most of the districts of Province-7 has started drying up in lack of monsoon-triggered rain here.

The paddy cultivation carried out on the basis of rain water has been affected for no adequate rain this season.

Junga Bir Chaudhary, a local farmer, said that the short of rain has caused cracks in their paddy fields. “The long spell of drought has panicked the farmers with the paddy farming drying up”.

Inadequate rainfall is likely to cost much to the farmers of Kailali and Kanchanpur – the two paddy pocket districts of Nepal.

Field Office In-charge of Department of Meteorology based in Attariya AP Chaurasiya said that the monsoon rain has not been active in the areas even at the onset of mid-July this year.Dhangadhi, July 23 (RSS): The paddy cultivated in most of the districts of Province-7 has started drying up in lack of monsoon-triggered rain here.
