Damak, July 18: A Chinese team has begun undertaking preliminary survey to prepare a master plan for the construction of embankment along nine rivers in Jhapa.
A seven-member team headed by Chinese technician Yau has started carrying out the survey works from Wednesday.
It is learnt that the team will study about the situation of Mawa, Ratuwa, Kamal Baniyani, Krishne, Satasi, Kankai, Biring, Ninda and Hadiya rivers of Jhapa.
The Chinese technical team has started on-site study to chart out a master plan to check water current of all major rivers of the district.
The team will submit a study report to the government which will be later used for the embankment works.
