Kathmandu– North Korean Ambassador to Nepal Kim Yong Hak today paid a courtesy call on Minister of Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa. The meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs was focused on the bilateral relations between the two countries and mutual cooperation and collaboration.

During the meeting, Minister Thapa welcomed North Korea’s move to initiate talks and meetings with the United States and South Korea and expressed his confidence that the talks would yield positive results.

Stating that North Korea had developed a new technology for garment and other sectors, he said Nepal was keen to replicate the technology on its soil. He also praised patriotism of North Korean people.

North Korean Ambassador Kim talked about taking Nepal-North Korea relations to new heights.

He also talked about difficulties and hassles North Korean citizens faced while acquiring work visa to Nepal and urged the minister to ease visa process for the citizens of his country.

In response, Minister Thapa said the government would immediately take measures to address the issue and ease the process of acquiring the visa for North Korean citizens.

The North Korean envoy also extended his best wishes to Home Minister Thapa for his successful tenure and extended him an invitation to visit North Korea on its National Day.
