GHAZNI, July 4– Up to 24 militants were killed as Afghan government forces have intensified military pressure on Taliban in the eastern Ghazni province, provincial government spokesman Aref Nuri said Wednesday.
The government forces, according to the official, stepped up ground and air attacks on Taliban positions in Muqar, Ajrestan, Qarabagh districts and outside provincial capital the Ghazni city over the past two days, killing 24 insurgents and injuring several others.
According to the official, 10 security personnel have been killed and injured in the ongoing operations.
Taliban militants who are in control of parts of the restive Ghazni province, haven’t commented.
