Biratnagar, June 27 : The Cabinet meeting of Province No 1 has decided to expand and upgrade the runway of Biratnagar Airport to the international level with the assistance from federal government.
Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Hikmat Karki, shared that the meeting held Wednesday decided to request the federal government for support to expand the Airport to international standard because it was only 1,500 meters long at present. It will be expanded to 3,000 meters to convert the airport into an international one.
Similarly, journalist Dhruba Subedi from Bhojpur district has been appointed press advisor to Chief Minister with salary and incentives equal to the Under Secretary.
The meeting also decided to forward bill on good governance 2075, bill on province tax and nontax revenue, 2075 and financial management in province bill 2075 to the Provincial Assembly.
