Nepalgunj– Various speakers underlined the need to make legal actions stronger so as to uproot corruption in Nepal.

At a workshop on integrity organized here on Friday by National Vigilance Centre, participants suggested formation of a state mechanism preventing corruption and expanding the effectiveness of corruption control and regulatory bodies.

On the occasion, NVC’s under-secretary Yam Prasad Bhusal presented a working paper on ‘Corruption Control Practices in Nepal’ and Section Officer Narayan Dahal gave an informative presentation on ‘Expectation of Service Seekers of Banke from Service Providers and Status of Property Details of Public Office-bearers’.

Banke District Coordination Committee Coordinator Ajaya Kumar Sribastav and Chief District Officer Ramesh Kumar KC stressed the need to introduce laws to enable environment for the promotion of integrity since mere rhetoric does not work to that end.

The workshop was attended by chiefs of government offices based in Banke, representatives of political parties and journalists, among others. RSS
