Kathmandu.  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the bilateral agreements and consensus would be reached during his visit by keeping national interest in the centre.

While briefing about his China visit (to begin from Tuesday) at the meeting of the National Assembly (NA) today, Prime Minister Oli assured that the agreements to be signed with China wouldn’t hurt national interest and instead further strengthen bilateral relations.

He also shared that the discussions will be focused on balancing the trade deficit, development of hydropower, railway, energy, reconstruction, international transmission line, tourism promotion and Chinese support and participation in these sectors.

The head of the government also shared that the discussions would be held with Chinese leaders with an expectation of increasing Chinese investment in Nepal and strengthening bilateral ties.

The trade deficit with china in the last fiscal year is about Rs 105 billion. PM Oli argued that the neighbouring countries’ support was essential for rapid development in the country.

He also said that his first foreign trip to India is going to yield result and the plans were underway to end inundation in Tarai region.

PM Oli is scheduled to meet with the Chinese President, the Premier and Communist Party of China (CPC)’s leaders during the visit.
