Road accident claims three, including mother and son

At least three persons died on the spot when a speeding tipper (Ba 3 Kha 6674) knocked down a scooter (Ba 56 Pa 1227) at Palanse of Suryabinayak municipality-9 at around 12.30 pm today.
Three persons travelling on the scooter died when the tipper hit the light vehicle on the road along the Araniko Highway.
The deceased have been identified as scooter rider Hari Bahadur Katuwal, 50, of Madhyapurthimi Municiplaity-1, Lokanthali, Sabita Ghimire, 36, of Melung municipality-6, Dolakha and her son Arbin Ghimire, 16, DSP at Metropolitan Police Circle, Jagate, Deepak Shrestha said.
The bodies have been taken to Bhaktapur Hospital; the tipper knocking the scooter has been kept at Police Circuit Jagate and search for absconding driver is underway, police shared.
The tipper knocked the scooter when Ghimire was taking her ailing 8th grader son to hospital from Nepal Police Residential Secondary School at Sanga.
