Traffic along Pokhara-Baglung road will be obstructed for more than six hours every day as the road is being expanded.

Traffic on the Ghatte Khola-Naya Pul section will be halted from 7:00-8:30 am and 9:30-10:30 am in the morning, and 12:30- 2:00 pm and 5:00-8:30 pm.

According to site engineer Kashi Raj Bohara of Apex Construction Company, the company that has taken up the responsibility for the construction, traffic was halted in coordination with the office of Mid-Hill Highway Construction Project.

“Though the road was halted for six hours, we have been able to work for only two hours. The movement has not been hampered due to the availability of an alternative road near Naya Pul,” he informed.

However, Kaski Chief District Administrator Tara Nath Adhikari said that no official decision was made on the matter. “The project officials might have halted the movement for emergency reasons. But, permission from concerned authorities beforehand is needed for the same.”

According to the project officials, the construction of Mid-Hill Highway has gathered pace and would be completed within three years. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 3.32 billion.
